POLICE are to warn a Ramsbottom company about speeding after concerns were raised by residents.
An officer is due to speak to managers at Stubbins Mill paper company Georgia Pacific after residents complained about tipper trucks regularly speeding downhill in Ramsbottom Lane late at night.
A couple who live in the lane told the first meeting of the new Ramsbottom, Tottington and North Manor Local Area Partnership at Tottington Methodist Church on Tuesday evening that they were routinely woken by vibrations caused by the vehicles.
Inspector Bryn Williams said police would raise the issue with the company.
He said: "I'll get a local officer to visit and pass on the concerns and perhaps look at taking action if it continues. Quite simply a visit from the local officer might be sufficient."
