THE future looks bright for apprentice Ruth Brooks after being promoted to head attendant at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury.
The 20-year-old has been working on a part-time basis as a leisure attendant at Ramsbottom Pool during her studies at Bury College.
But staff have been so impressed with her work that she has been appointed full-time head attendant at Castle Leisure Centre, in Bolton Street.
Her new role will see her assisting the duty officer in the daily running of the centre, customer care, taking charge of the lifeguards, producing shift rotas, and ensuring the building is secure. Ruth, who lives in Ramsbottom, is due to complete the NVQ level two in sports and recreation next month, and hopes to move into a management role in the future.
Bryn Woodcock, operations manager at Castle Leisure Centre, said: "Ruth has shown commitment to further her career by going on an apprenticeship with Bury College. These attributes, combined with excellent reports from her college assessor, have allowed for the promotion she has received."
