Grey or Green, Your Choice. Fact: Climate change is happening now. Ruining the world for future generations.

Is global warming affecting our planet? Do we really need to worry about it? Or is it just nature taking place? These are the questions YOU need to answer and only YOU can be the judge of that. But everyone has their own opinions and these are mine, you can agree or disagree; it's up to you! Improving your town is what its all about!

There are lots of problems that need solving but one of the issues we need to concentrate on, is global warming. You might see people on television talking about all the big changes we need to make in order to have better towns, cities etc. but in actual fact, you don't need to do a lot. Just by switching the TV off can contribute into making a huge difference. Imagine one person, doing one thing to help the environment, counted for 1%. So if everyone in Bury did this, how much of a difference will that make?

We all know that the bus fare is rising. But why? The bus fare goes up to pay for the pensioners but a lot of customers still use the bus company. Young people (teenagers) probably aren't bothered, with the bus fare only being 70p; although a lot of people think why not just go in the car? Think about this. Twenty people say the bus fare is too high - instead they take the car. But they all could have been on one bus; inevitably that's twenty more cars in the road. One bus. Less pollution. Simple. The council can do more by having more buses and having more routes, this will help to stop pollution.

What about schools? They do a lot for the town already, but what if we change it slightly. Children love taking part in competitions only they can do activities that will help the environment. For example, if they set up a "walking bus" and decide on who can have the biggest one would get a prize. This gives children, one, a competitive up attitude and two, giving influence to help make the borough better. This helps by reducing the number of cars on the road.

On a personal example I've seen one child in a 4x4 being dropped off having passed countless bus stops.

How much paper do, you yourself, and us as a town waste? Think about it. Every school, office and small businesses in Bury should recycle paper that they would normally just throw away; this will help improve the environment! And this is how. The affect this will have is, instead of having to cut MORE trees for fresh paper, you can recycle the paper again and again. This way less trees will be cut and more carbon dioxide will be taken in by the trees.

In conclusion, all of us can make a huge difference to make Bury most greenest town in Manchester and just maybe, England?
