Bury Times, November 16, 2006.
SHOPPERS can have a hi-tech glimpse of Bury's future when they head down The Rock.
Banners have been installed depicting computer generated images (CGIs) of what the town will look like after the £220 million Thornfield development.
Opening in spring 2009, the project will feature a Debenhams store, 60 shops, cafes and restaurants, a multi-screen cinema, 200 flats and 1,000 car parking spaces.
Mr Peter Warden, senior development surveyor at Thornfield Properties, said: "The banners will provide an accurate visual representation of The Rock, allowing the community to see how the development is going."
Councillor Wayne Campbell, leader of Bury Council, added: "The Rock development is the culmination of five years in the planning. It is great to get to the bricks and mortar stage and to let the public see that this exciting expansion of Bury town centre is getting closer."
