CHESHAM Primary's victorious cross-country team has certainly given other school squads a run for their money!
For their 10-strong team has swept the boards in local cross-country competitions and help re-establish the school's enviable reputation in this sporting discipline.
Chesham Primary, on Talbot Grove, triumphed in the boys and girls cross-country junior schools competition as well as capturing the road relay titles for mixed competitors. These successes earned the squad a total of four shields.
Headteacher Mr Peter Hudson said: "Cross-country is something of a tradition for this school. We'd always done fairly well although during the past few years we were not as successful as we could have been. But this time we've won the big events and this is due to the fact we have a particularly good year group who ran for us last year at a younger age."
