VISITORS to Bury can go caravan crazy after the £1.3 million development of a site at Burrs Country Park.
Former Top Gear presenter Steve Berry braved the rain to declare the caravan site officially open on Friday.
Around 120 people, including the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Farook Chaudhry, attended the opening to have a look at the work carried out by The Caravan Club. Among the facilities are new toilet blocks, extra hard-standing pitches, enclosed vegetable preparation area, a bathroom for the disabled, and a baby and toddler room.
When the site had been opened, guests enjoyed a tour of the area and tucked into a buffet lunch.
