FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house in Ainsworth Road in Radcliffe just before 6pm yesterday after receiving a report of a kitchen fire.
Two units, one from Bury and one from Whitefield, attended the scene. A 50-year-old male resident managed to put out the fire before they arrived.
He was suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation and was given oxygen therapy at the scene but declined hospital treatment.
