APPLICATIONS are still being accepted from groups in the community wishing to get involved with life in Radcliffe.

The new Radcliffe Local Area Partnership (LAP), which replaces the area board meetings, will consist of ward councillors, service providers such as the police, and representatives from community groups.

Anyone from a Radcliffe-based constituted group or a group that can work towards being constituted can join the LAP.

They will be expected to prepare for and attend the six meetings held each year and share responsibility for the decisions made.

The LAP will hold its first meeting on Thursday, July 26 at Radcliffe Civic Suite, with partnership members holding a business-style meeting from 6pm.

There will be a presentation from Countryside Properties plc about the development of the town centre, along with updates from Radcliffe Area Tasking Team, Greater Manchester Fire Service, and Active Radcliffe Sports Partnership.

Although members of the public can attend this part of the meeting, they will not be able to get involved.

An open forum will be held from 7.45pm to 8.30pm for public questions.

Anyone wishing to find out more about Radcliffe LAP can contact area co-ordinator John Slater on (0161) 253 7455 or by sending an email to j.slater@bury.gov.uk.
