FOUR youths were injured when a car they were travelling in careered out of control and crashed outside a Radcliffe pub.

Three males were pulled from the wreckage by passers-by while the fourth, believed to have been the driver of the Vauxhall Omega, ran off.

He was later tracked down by police after seeking treatment to a minor head injury at North Manchester General Hospital.

The accident happened at 9.25pm on Wednesday outside the George Hotel in Cross Lane.

It is believed the Vauxhall was being driven at speed when it clipped two other cars and veered off the road.

Whitefield firefighters were called to the scene as a precaution as it was feared the damaged car could burst into flames.

A juvenile has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving while another male was detained on suspicion of stealing the Vauxhall.

It is understood they have been bailed pending further inquiries.
