I HAVE been commissioned to write a book called Memories ofLancashire Cotton Workers. This is to be published in the autumn of 2008.
I wonder if your readers have any such memories which they would be prepared to share with other readers and myself. there are plenty of books dealing with the statistics of the cotton industry, but few relating to what it was like working on the machines.
I am not just interested in spinning and weaving, but also in the engineering firms which were essential to the cotton mills.
