A BURY nightclub is currently undergoing major refurbishment.
Sol Viva in Rochdale Road will be redecorated, losing its Salvador Dali-inspired theme, Improvements will include additional standing space and seating areas, a high- tech lighting rig with giant screen and bar plasma screens in every room.
The venue will also have a new semi-covered smoking area following the recently-introduced smoking ban.
The club, which last had a refit ten years ago, will remain open as usual during the majority of the renovation works.
The three-room venue is set to be relaunched on August 3 and will cater for over 18s, playing a mix of commercial dance, indie and RnB music.
The old RnB room, Viva 1, will be transformed into a party room whilst Viva 2 will have a strict over 25s policy.
General manager Nicola Strang said: "Sol Viva has been one of Bury's best nightclubs for many years. However, we felt it was time for it to be updated.
"Our aim is to continue offering a great nightclub experience to our current customer base whilst attracting more of an older crowd."
