FOLLOWING the horrific attack in Manchester we co-ordinated an effort for people to drop off toiletries and other needed items at points around Bury.

We have been totally overwhelmed with the generosity of all your donations, it’s wonderful to see our community pulling together.

So far we’ve taken donations to Royal Bolton Hospital children’s ward and High Dependency Unit, North Manchester General wards, Manchester Royal Infirmary wards, High Dependency and Intensive Care, Royal Manchester Children’s wards, HDU & ICU and Royal Oldham Hospital.

The staff, patients and families are totally overwhelmed by all your amazing support. The remaining items that we can’t deliver immediately will be used to keep these wards topped up to help and support families over the coming weeks.

Special thanks to our collection points and the staff at The Village Hotel, Barista and Bury Business Lodge and to our wonderful team who helped today. A huge thank you to everyone involved!

A big thank you to the Starbucks team at Village Bury for their book sale collection for SuperJosh which has so far raised £910. Thank you to everyone who has donated books to help make this possible!

Well done also to our amazing supporters who have been pushing themselves to the limit to raise money for Josh’s charity. Andy and Neil have completed their 250 mile London to Paris bike ride, and should be so proud of themselves, doing it in four days!

We have been following their adventure on Facebook, and it definitely looked gruelling, but they managed it and have so far raised nearly £2,000!

Well done and thank you to Stephen and Nathan who completed the Manchester 10K on Sunday, the weather was great and the atmosphere was amazing.

Also, well done to Linda who completed the Liverpool half marathon this weekend.

Well done and thank you to Jack who cycled from Widnes to Southport, 31 miles to raise money for our charity after we’ve been supporting his brother Lewis.

These are huge achievements and amazing support for all our families, thank you to everyone who has generously sponsored them and donated.

You can donate to The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity by testing SJBT13 followed by £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.

Our counsellor, Zoe said:

“There is a massive gap within the NHS when it comes to families coming to terms with and managing long term and terminal illness, along with bereavement of children suffering the effects of brain tumours.

I have a full caseload of families that I counsel and support and there are no set number of “sessions” allocated, I join the journey with the family and remain with them until such a time when they feel they can continue independently.”

All your amazing support and donations help provide this service that just wouldn’t be available to for our families otherwise.

We are very proud to be able to help make a difference, thank you.
