A MOTORIST was lucky to escape unhurt after his car skidded and overturned on the M66 near Ramsbottom.
The accident, involving a black three-door hatchback heading south towards Bury, happened about 10.45am on Friday. No other vehicles were involved.
Fire crews from Ramsbottom and Bury were called to the scene and found the driver had already managed to get himself out of the vehicle.
Firefighters said they believed the car had skidded due to wet conditions, and cleared the debris.
