THE July meeting of Shuttleworth-in-Ramsbottom Women's Institute was held at Ramsbottom Civic Hall on Monday.
The business part of the evening was presided over by president Mrs Kathleen Bailey. This was followed by a demonstration by institute member Mrs Aileen Brown on the art of paper folding. Each lady made a small basket out of paper which would hold a small present or a few sweets.
Everyone then proceeded to fold a strip of paper, which finally emerged as a shirt - members had to have nimble fingers. The evening was what is sometimes referred to as a hands on' meeting.
Mrs Brown was thanked by president Mrs Kathleen Bailey. Supper was provided by the committee. The next meeting will be held on Monday August 6, at 7.30pm.
