After losing to Chorlton's first team last week, Bury hoped for better when they entertained Chorlton 2.
The evening was marked, however, by fighting performances from both teams. For Bury, Steven Press did well to hold on to a draw although outgraded by 30 points, and Mick Norris was forced to take a draw despite holding a similar grade advantage.
The rapid summer time limit prevented Keith Evans and Anthony Lee from converting small advantages, and they too had to settle for draws. That left Scott Riley and Bernard Sharples still in play. Scott at the last found a win for the home side, but Bernard was unable to take anything from a losing endgame, despite devious attempts, and the match finished all square.
Bury 1st 3, v Chorlton 2nd 3 S Riley 1, S Tuson 0 ; M Norris 0.5, M Peim 0.5 ; B Sharples 0, S Swain 1 ; A Lee 0.5, A Beresford 0.5 ; K Evans 0.5, R Nurse 0.5 ; S Press 0.5, D Kierman 0.5.
