COPIES of the Bury Times came in useful at a school French day.
Children from Tottington, Christ Church and Elton primary schools sculpted them into models of a famous Parisian landmark while brushing up on their language skills. They had travelled to Tottington High School which was hosting a French day for young pupils.
The visiting children practised their French in a series of role plays before playing French games and making their models of the Eiffel Tower.
The activities were run by staff from education company Leaders for Learning.
Tottington Primary School headteacher Mike Pinder said: "Events like this help make learning a language exciting and enjoyable. Our year five pupils were able to try out the French phrases they have learnt in class in a fun, interactive way, and benefit from a boost to their enthusiasm ahead of their last year in primary school."
