EATERIES in Bury and Prestwich are in the running to be named Britain’s Best Café.
Automatic Café in Market Street, Bury, is up against CJS Pop in Café in the Longfield Centre in the race to win the title in a national competition.
Customers must vote for their favourite eatery, in the competition organised by SIG Roofing, before the end of October.
The cafe with the most votes will be invited, along with 13 other regional winners, to a celebration lunch at London’s famous Chiswell Street Brewery to hear the national winner announced.
The winner and their guest will jet off on a four-star holiday to New York City’s Manhattan Island, including a visit to Ellen’s Stardust diner just off Times Square.
SIG Roofing’s local branch is based in Bolton and branch manager Ross Prescott said: “We think our customers, roofers and local contractors, are the best people to judge what makes a great cafe but we want everyone to join in the fun — that’s why we’ve opened up the voting to the general public, too.”
The competition runs at the same time as the British Food Awareness campaign and aims to show how local communities appreciate their cafes and the food they serve.
