A RAMSBOTTOM brewery is the "toast of the town."
For Brewsmith Beer is featured in the new Good Beer Guide 2016, published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and is one of 20 new Greater Manchester breweries to be included in the annual guide.
The accolade is the latest chapter in the success story of the brewery which was founded in 2014 by James, Jennifer and Ted Smith.
The company is a family-run, 10 barrel microbrewery, which launched with a core range of five beers, and this year has extended its portfolio, creating a mix of quality ales based on traditional British beer styles.
The brewery supplies a range of bars and pubs, including the Hare and Hounds in Holcombe Brook, The Trackside and Buffet stops on the East Lancashire Railway and the XLII Ramsbottom.
It also runs brewery tours for the over-18s, with visits scheduled to take place on September 25 and 26.
Brewsmith has marked the success of its first year in business with a new ale, Gyle 50.
CAMRA'S Good Beer Guide 2016 features a total of 61 Greater Manchester breweries and 34 new pub entries.
It also includes two Prestwich breweries, Beer Nouveau and Five Oh, for the first time.
The book’s editor Roger Protz said: "British brewing has never been in better health, with a third consecutive year of more than 10 per cent growth and more different beers being brewed than ever before."
