WOMEN in Tottington tried their hand at a lesser-known form of fitness — a burlesque class for beginners.
Dancers assembled at St Anne’s Church Hall in Chapel Street to take part in the session, which is designed to be a fun way of exercising.
The class is part of the I Will if You Will campaign to get women and girls to take part in more exercise.
Bury is a pilot area for the £2.8 million initiative funded by Sport England, and it is hoped it will be used as an example of best practice for the rest of the country.
Judith Kelly, of Rhine Close, who attended the class said: “People think it is all about taking your clothes off, but it is not like that at all. It is exercise, but a different sort of exercise, it is really fun.
“You don’t feel like you are doing any exercise, but you can really feel it on the back of your legs after. I would definitely recommend it.”
