CORONATION Street star Georgia May Foote brought Christmas cheer to shoppers and fans as she turned on the lights in Bury town centre.
Georgia, aged 22, who is from Bury but lives in Bolton, flicked the switch at the Christmas lights switch-on at The Rock tonight.
The actress, who has played Katy Armstrong in the ITV soap since 2010, switched on the lights alongside Father Christmas.
She said: "I lived here up until about two years ago. I'm from Walmersley, so it's a bit special this, my hometown.
"I love coming round Bury with my sister, my mum and my grandma. It's exciting to see everybody."
Key 103 radio presenters Adam Catterall and Darren Proctor also hosted an evening of music and entertainment.
Other activities included Christmas Zumba, fashion and hair advice from experts at River Island and Toni & Guy, a Christmas choir and performances by Britain’s Got Talent acts Reconnected and Be Minor.
