TWO boys who met as infants undergoing vital treatment wre reunited at a fundraising party.
Bury’s Joshua Wilson, who was among the VIPs who attended a party thrown by brave Leigh boy Tyler Yates who has just undergone a second brain tumour operation.
Saturday’s Sweets, Treats and Nice Things to Eat event was held at Tyler’s school in Leigh and raised £3,180 for the newly-launched Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour charity.
The total includes match funding from Barclays and Lloyds banks.
The duo first met when infant Tyler was recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumour and Joshua, then three had just been diagnosed with a reoccurring brain stem tumour.
Tyler’s mum, Pamela, said: ”We formed a friendship through common grounds of supporting our superstar children who have had to fight such a terrible battle. Tyler has been left with minor post surgery disabilities including a limited vision field and slight weakness.
“He recently had to undergo a second brain surgery and luckily there has been no change in the severity of these. We recently met up with Josh at a post surgery scan check up at The Christie.”
Last Saturday’s party included visits from Porky Pig, Star War characters, music and stalls. Joshua’s mum, Dawn, said: “I'm totally overwhelmed by Pam’s hard work and achievement. It was such a fantastic day, Josh had so much fun. Thank you to everyone who came, helped make the day such a success I just can't believe how much was raised.”
