STUDENTS from Derby High School were urged to “BSafe, BCool” during an action-packed day designed to give them the skills and awareness to deal with a range of vital social issues.
The Fire Service, police, NHS, Bury College students and Bury LEA ensured this was a hard-hitting message aimed at the Radcliffe Road school’s year nine pupils.
Bury College set the tone for the day, opening with a stunning performance, focusing on bullying, racism, prejudice, alcohol and drugs and a variety of health issues.
Students then got involved in a series of dynamic workshops covering, crime and its consequences and anti-social behaviour.
The climax of the event focused on the growing problem of cyber bulling.
This reflected the Derby High School’s proactive commitment to ensure pupils are safe, and to encourage them to act with initiative and common sense.
