TWENTY one houses could be built in Hollins if developers get the green light.
Morris Homes has applied to Bury Council for permission to begin construction in Haweswater Crescent.
One of those homes would have three bedrooms and the others would have four or more.
Sixty five parking spots would also be created.
A report from Morris Homes to the council says the firm has held pre-application discussions with the council. It adds: “It’s a good location with links to Bury and Manchester centres and (is near to) Hollins Grundy Primary School and Castlebrook High School.
“Community facilities such as pubs and shops are close to the site.”
The report highlights possible weaknesses of the scheme, warning trees might overshadow the houses and that the new homes might overlook existing homes.
The council has written to residents at 59 properties and they and others have until November 15 to contact the council with their views. The council is aiming to reach a decision by January 23.
