MEMBERS of an Elton church were invited to do something “sunny for money” by dressing in yellow for Bury Hospice.
The congregation of St Stephen’s Church on Bolton Road raised £270 for the charity by taking part in a yellow-themed harvest festival and parade.
More than 80 people, including Bury rainbows, brownies and guides, wore yellow clothes to the service and donated yellow tombola prizes.
Reverend Derek French said: “We encouraged everyone to bring a yellow present along.
“We also had a quiz with all the answers relating to the colour yellow.”
Cakes and sunflowers were also sold with the flowers provided by hospice volunteer and congregation member Mrs Joyce Keeble.
