FRIGHT fans got ready for Halloween with some ghoulish fun at Tottington’s annual pumpkin festival.
Revellers of all ages attended the event at Station Yard on Sunday, which included a range of pumpkin-themed activities.
Youngsters such as five-year-old Taylor Horrocks and three-year-old Harrison Barlow, both from Ramsbottom, enjoyed some of the spooktastic offerings, and the grown-ups also got into the mood.
The event also had an element of star quality, with Pete Turner, bass player from Bury band Elbow getting involved in the fun with his father Alan, from Tottington Wildlife Watch Group.
Some of events included pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, and seasonal food such as pumpkin soup, black peas, pumpkin pie and pumpkin cake. Despite heavy rain hitting a lot of the region on Sunday, revellers managed to avoid the inclement weather and enjoy the day without getting wet.
Judith Kelly, chairman of Incredible Edible Tottington, said: “I was a bit worried when I saw the clouds in the morning, but it was fine for most of the afternoon and we even got some sunshine.
“We had a fantastic turnout, with lots of passers by coming along too.
“There really was a great sense of community spirit, and it was good to meet people who lived nearby and we hadn't seen before.
“The children really loved it.”
