YOUNG people are being invited to draw the future at an event taking place at Heaton Park on Saturday as the Big Draw comes to town.

The national scheme aims to encourage creativity and a local event celebrating it has been organised by Prudence Clarke.

She said: “I have managed to get materials from various places with a special thanks to Derwent who have provided lots of pencils.

"The aim is to get as many children drawing as possible and really inspire them to get creative.

“It is a drop in activity and is open to all ages, kids accompanied by adults of course.

“Even grown ups can have a go.

“It promises to be really good fun.”

The creative session runs from 12 until 4pm at the Heaton Park Farm Centre where children will be asked to visualise the future, which is the theme of this year’s Big Draw.
