THREE youths tried and failed to burgle houses in Bury and Rochdale.

Greater Manchester Police have issued images of the would be burglars who tried to use a screwdriver to break into a house in Hornby Street, Bury at about 3pm on August 29.

They were disturbed by a neighbour and ran off in the direction of Argyle Street.

On September 1, the three teenagers attempted to force open the door of a house in Rochdale but again were unsuccessful.

All three boys are described as white and aged about 16. The first has dark hair and the second has mousy brown hair.

DC Danny Whitaker from Bury division, said: “The apparent youthfulness of all three boys is of course concerning but we believe they are responsible for two attempted burglaries and we need to find out who they are.

“Someone, be it a teacher, friend, family member or neighbour will know them and we are appealing for help to identify them.

“I would urge members of the public to take a close look at the photographs, which are of very good quality, and if you recognise any of the boys please call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8181 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
