CORONATION Street star Georgia May Foote will bring Christmas sparkle to shoppers this festive season.
The 22-year-old will flick the switch at the Christmas lights switch-on at The Rock in Bury on Thursday, November 7.
Key 103 radio presenters Adam Catterall and Darren Proctor will host an evening of music, entertainment and showcases from 6pm until 8pm.
Arnold Wilcox-Wood, The Rock’s centre director, said: “Christmas is a fantastic time to animate the shopping centre and instil some festive cheer.
“We’re delighted that Georgia has agreed to switch on our lights because she is local to the area and we pride ourselves on being a centre that very much caters for the residents of north Manchester and Lancashire. We hope to have a great turn-out on the night.”
The Bury-born actress, who has played Katy Armstrong in the ITV soap since 2010, will switch on the lights at 7.30pm alongside Father Christmas.
Other activities on the night will include Christmas Zumba, fashion and hair advice from experts at River Island and Toni & Guy, a Christmas choir and performances by Britain’s Got Talent acts Reconnected and Be Minor.
Parking is free after 6pm and The Rock will be open for late night shopping after the event, until 9pm.
