FUSILIER Museum staff will swap history for parachutes next month when they take to the heavens for a death-defying skydive.

A coffee morning was held at the museum to raise funds for the adrenaline-fuelled stunt – which will see museum chairman Colonel Brian Gorski take part along with other museum staff and volunteers.

Collections Officer Sarah Stevenson, who is among those taking part in the skydive on November 16, said staff are still desperate to find more volunteers to take part.

She said: “We hosted a coffee morning to include everyone in our fundraising efforts – allowing volunteers, friends of the museum and visitors to pop along.

“We have had lots of support and money pledged for the skydive so far but are still looking for people to take part to raise funds for the museum and Fusilier Aid Society.”

The museum recently secured £1.4 million funding for its Onwards and Upwards project which will develop new learning facilities and events space and improved collections storage and exhibitions.
