THE fight to save trade in Tottington following the introduction of a pay and display scheme takes another step next week when campaigners and brewery bosses meet.
Councillor Yvonne Wright, who has led a campaign to abolish car parking charges introduced at the Robin Hood Car Park by the Greene King Pub Company, will be meeting with representatives from the brewery on Wednesday to discuss the effect charges have had on the village.
Since the charges on the village's main car park came into force this summer, businesses in Tottington have been monitoring footfall and sales to see if the pay and display is having an impact.
Coun Wright said: "By no means has this situation gone away and some businesses have suffered an effect so the fight goes on."
