MINDLESS yobs will always be condemned for their senseless acts and lack of respect.
But where's the sense, and respect, in fining a car driver £75 for discarding a cigarette end while a driver who ignores the mobile phone ban is only fined £30?
When did a discarded cigarette end ever kill anyone? Millions of drivers ignore the mobile phone ban daily.
The result is that traffic regularly grinds to a halt as vehicles crash and people are killed or seriously injured.
As well as each fatal crash requiring a road to be closed for a minimum of four hours, they each cost society around £1.5 million.
If this is the price worth paying for texting and talking while driving then it surely doesn't get anymore senseless.
As long as the penalties for littering are stiffer than those for putting lives at risk, there will always be mindless yobs with no respect.
