AFTER reading the article in last week's Bury Times I was amazed at a comment made by chief executive Mark Sanders regarding the black boxes: "The composition of the boxes means that they cannot be recycled..."
I know that reusing is better than recycling but there are alot of residents who don't want these boxes.
Also cracked boxes aren't any good for anything. Our neighbouring council of Bolton uses a Bury-based firm to collect damaged wheelie bins and recycle boxes to be ground down and recycled.
These black boxes take up a lot of space and I would prefer Bury Council to store them, not me.
Once again it is down to the citizens of Bury to make a stand against council exploits, as with the Lowry.
