A MAN who stole £1,000 from an Unsworth woman he met via a mobile phone text service has been ordered to pay her £400 compensation.
Killian Slaine Dragonwolfe denied theft, obtaining property by deception and forging a cheque but was convicted after a trial at Pontypridd Magistrates Court. He stole the money from Eleanor Winter Higgins by cashing a forged cheque while she was in hospital recovering in July, 2004.
During the trial, Miss Higgins said the money had been returned to her but that did not change the fact that it was stolen by Dragonwolf who now lives in Aberdare, Wales.
Appearing before Aberdare Magistrates Court, Dragonwolfe, who changed his name from Graham Pike more than 20 years ago, was given a six-month community service order in addition to the compensation.
