HAYDOCK Alan (Clarinetist) On 20th Feb 2022 after a long illness at Calderdale Royal Hospital, Alan aged 82 years Elland, Halifax. Formerly of Bury High School, Bury Military Band member and later conductor, alse for many years a member of the Halle Orchestra. Beloved Husband of Mary, much loved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Stepfather and Step Grandfather. Requiem mass at St Patrick's Church Elland, HX5 0PU on Tuesday 29th March at 11.30pm followed by committal at Park Wood Crematorium, Elland. HX5 9HZ. Family flowers only please but donations would be much appreciated to Overgate Hospice & Altzheimers Society c/o B.J.Melia & Sons, 64 Gibbet St, Halifax, HX1 5BP. Will friends please accept this as the only intimation and meet at the Church R.I.P.

I worked with Alan when he was the Clarinettist of the West Riding Wind Quintet. He had a wicked sense of humour and was a pleasure to work with. One memorable concert at Leeds University was a performance of the Clarinet Quintet by Robert Simpson with the composer present. Alan was a fine musician.
