I am devastated to hear the news of Peter's death and sadly too late for me to attend his funeral. Peter was my playmate, classmate and my first love. Sadly we lost touch when we left Peel Brow County Primary School, going on to different schools. However, I never forgot my first love and I have kept a place in my heart for him all my life. I have so many memories of him: in our gardens on Poplar Grove, playing on the "Rec" in the "sand pit", on the swings or a little further afield on the "jazz" or the "pen walk". Peter was very bright at school and always top of the class. I have often wondered how Peter's life turned out and secretly hoped that one day we would meet again and I would be able to tell him just how much I had loved him as a child. Sadly our paths never did cross after leaving junior school, apart from briefly at my Dad's funeral, when he came to pay his respects. I know nothing about him as an adult, only second-hand bits of information but I would like his remaining family, wife/partner/childre
n? to know what a dear childhood friend he was to me and how I will forever cherish the memory of him. On behalf of myself, my Mum Kath, my brother Ian and my sisters Ros, Linda and Lorna, I send our condolences for your great loss. Elaine (nee Barnes)
