RAMSBOTTOM United have pledged free admission to their home Evo-Stik Division One North derby against Salford City on April 9 if they can attract a crowd of more than 1,000 for their Easter Saturday clash against Farsley.
The Rams are top of the attendance league in their first season in the division and, on the field, the success has been matched with the team currently in second place.
Now, with the distribution of 5,000 flyers, they hope to capitalise and make it a bumper holiday home crowd ahead of their derby trip to Radcliffe Borough on Easter Monday.
Club spokesman Tony Cunningham said: “We came up with the Rammy1000 idea to try and help make people aware of the fantastic things that are going on down at the Riverside Stadium.
“With two young managers and a great squad of players we’re seeing some of the best football on display anywhere, and we really want the town of Rammy to get behind these lads as we head towards the play-offs for a potential second promotion in as many seasons.”
