FORTY-two junior anglers from seven local angling clubs took part in the Greater Manchester Junior Angling Championships on Lake Four at Bradshaw Hall Fisheries in Bolton.
There were some excellent displays of skill from many junior anglers but, after a tense weigh in at the end of the match, the juniors from Bury were announced as winners.
Nick Magee added individual honours with a winning weight of 54lb 2oz to go with his team winners’ medal.
Magee fished pellet waggler at distance to catch a succession of carp to 6lbs. The juniors of Radcliffe AS came a creditable second, and last year’s winners, Warrington, were third.
Bradshaw Hall Fisheries donated the exclusive use of their main match lake for this event, and also presented Magee with a free season ticket for 2013.
Hats off to the new owners of Bradshaws for supporting the development of angling in the North West.
