CHARLTON came from behind to beat gutsy Bury at Gigg Lane this afternoon.
After Ryan Lowe had put Richie Barker's men into the lead, the Londoners upped the ante in the second half and took victory thanks to goals from Paul Hayes and Johnnie Jackson.
There was little to separate the two teams in the opening stages, Charlton's Dale Stephens, playing against his former club, going closest when he fired narrowly over from 30 yards out.
But Bury slowly started to take control and the warning signs were there when Lowe's glorious throughball picked out Andy Bishop, who saw his shot blocked.
The Shakers went into the lead in the 40th minute when Lowe captialised on goalkeeper Ben Hamer's lapse in concentration with an early free-kick that swept into the top corner for his seventh goal in as many games.
However, Chris Powell's side were level within four minutes of the second half when Jackson crossed from the left for Hayes to head home.
And the Addicks went into the lead when Danny Green whipped in a dangerous low cross that Jackson, who had ghosted in at the far post, stroked home.
Despite Barker throwing caution to the win in the final 15 minutes, throwing on substitutes Kudus Oyenuga and Andy Haworth, the hosts could not break through and suffered their second defeat in the space of four days.
