A POPULAR Bury chip shop has an enviable national title all wrapped up.
For the Metro Fish Bar in Manchester Road has beaten off stiff competition to be awarded the Potato Council’s coveted Britain’s Best Chips accolade.
Well-known TV and radio personality Keith Chegwin presented owner Suzanne Winfield with her award which co-incided with National Chip Week.
In January, the Metro gave away more than 7,000 free portions of fish and chips to eager customers.
