A DUSTBIN lorry on fire in Radcliffe this morning left ‘debris all over the road’.
A large quantity of cardboard was on fire in the private waste vehicle in Harper Fold Road, across from Cams Lane Primary School.
Fire crews from Whitefield and Bolton North were called to the incident at 7.30am and used four hose reels to tackle the blaze.
The road was shut in both directions while the rubbish was removed.
Resident Clare Cordingley said: "My husband saw the truck on fire in Bolton Road. It turned into Harper Fold Road.
"The whole pile of rubbish was on fire at one point.
"The firemen had it under control, though, and doused the flames very quickly."
