RESIDENTS are invited to hear updates on the council’s consultation over the closure of at least 10 of the borough’s libraries.
There will also be an update on plans for a new health and care centre in Whitefield, from Bury NHS clinical commissioning officers.
Both items are up for discussion when Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum meets at 6.30pm on Tuesday, March 14 at the Elms Community Centre in Green Lane, Whitefield.
The public consultation period on controversial plans to close the majority of libraries in Bury opened in February.
Residents can have their say on the two options put forward by Bury Council regarding the changes.
The two options are to retain library buildings at Bury, including its archives, Ramsbottom, and Prestwich or the three buildings plus the addition of Radcliffe library. Both the options will be discussed at the meeting.
Local officers will also attend to give the latest police updates for the area.
There will also be updates on Uplands, the former town hall, Higher Lane Hickory Grange, Porada, Boz Park and the Pilsworth Park 66 development.
