CONGESTION is starting to ease on a busy stretch of motorway.
Since 6.30pm motorists have been experiencing severe delays on the M60 clockwise between Pendlebury and Prestwich.
Traffic was queuing due to a rolling road block and a vehicle fire between junction 16 A666 and junction 17, A56 in the roadworks area.
There was also a report of an accident on the same stretch.
Traffic is also said to be slow on the opposite side as motorists are slowing down to have a look.
Crews from Whitefield and other fire stations were mobilised to the scene at around 6.30pm.
Crews returned shortly afterwards as a precaution at the request of the recovery vehicle because of worries over leaking fuel.
Highways England have just tweeted that delays are starting to ease with only one lane now shut to traffic
