FIRE crews were called after a lorry carrying Coca-Cola caught fire on the motorway near Whitefield.
The blaze started at about 10.30pm as the vehicle - which was carrying large amounts of Coca-Cola and Fanta - was travelling on the M60 near to Junction 17.
Crews from Whitefield attended the scene and were able to put out the fire, which is believed to have started from the vehicle's brakes.
The motorway was closed for several hours as the vehicle was safely removed from the area, which may have had a knock-on effect for morning commuters.
