A CAR was severely damaged after its engine caught fire in Whitefield this morning.
Emergency services attended the incident in Bury New Road, near to the White Room restaurant, at around 7.45am.
Police officers reported that the driver pulled over when smoke started coming from the engine compartment of the Peugeot 206. The bus lane on Bury New Road was temporarily closed while police and fire crews attended the scene.
Nobody was injured in the fire.
